Let's make it

Step 1
Place rimmed baking pan on middle rack in oven; preheat oven to 450°. Spread 1 side of bread slices with butter;place 4 slices, butter side down, on second rimmed baking pan.Top with jam, half the cheese, apples, and remaining half the cheese and 4 bread slices, butter side up.
Step 2
Carefully remove hot baking pan from oven and press on top of sandwiches;carefully place sandwiches between pans back on middle oven rack.Bake sandwiches 6 minutes or until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown
Step 3
In small bowl, whisk powdered sugar and milk. Serve sandwiches drizzled with powdered sugar mixture, if desired.
